MOULTRIE — The Colquitt County eighth-grade basketball teams took a pair of non-South Georgia Athletic Conference victories on Tuesday against Radium Springs Middle School.
The Colquitt County eighth-grade boys defeated Radium Springs 46-35 to run their record to 6-1. It was the fifth win in a row for the eighth-graders.
Brandon Key led the Packers with 17 points. Kenji Thompson added nine, Jaymius Pittman had six and Taphari Wright, Sebastian Courtney and Robert Lingo each had a free throw.
The eighth-grade Lady Packers has an easier time, taking a 21-4 victory.
Makeba Ponder led the Lady Packers withe eight points.
Dexshalyn Polite added six points, Abbi Beth Paulk had four points and Allyson Alvis, T’Keyah Owens and Kara Menix each had a free throw.
The Colquitt County eighth-grade teams will be back in action on Thursday when they play host to Hahira beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the Charlie A. Gray Middle School gym.
