MOULTRIE — The Colquitt County C.A. Gray and junior varsity softball teams took a pair of games from Cook on Tuesday in Adel.
The Gray team had little trouble, winning 9-1 behind the pitching of Cheyenne Tillman, who gave up just one hit and one unearned run.
Chazmin Singletary and Lindsey Oxley led Colquitt County with two hits each. Keri Owens and Kacie Ricks each had triples and Alex Gibbs and Hayli Spradley each had singles.
The victory raises the Gray team’s record to 4-5.
The junior varsity team completed the sweep by rallying for three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 6-5 victory.
Cook had scored three runs in the top of the inning to take 5-3 lead, but Amie Frazier’s single to left drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the inning.
Frazier and Kayla Bynum each had two hits in the game for the Lady Packers.
Savannah Morgan, Makayli Crawford and Ansleigh Lindsey each had one hit.
“We came back, fought hard and won,” Colquitt County Coach Chance Pitts said.
Ricks did the pitching.
The Colquitt County Gray and junior varsity teams will play next on Thursday when they travel to Lowndes.
The Colquitt County middle school softball team split a pair of games with Lowndes at Packer Park on Tuesday.
Colquitt won the opener 12-10, but fell in the second 6-5 in a game shortened to two innings because of the time rule.
The middle school Lady Packers banged out 14 hits in the first game, including two each by Lora Grace Bruce, Reagan Goforth, Angie Kling and Niki Johnson.
Christy Crosby, Christin Hunnicutt, Shelby Tidwell, Paris Sumner, Hannah Hollandsworth and Rebekah Ward each had one hit.
Johnson had a double and triple. Goforth and Kling also had doubles.
Hunnicutt had two hits and Goforth, Spradley and Emily Cox each had one hit in the second game.
Colquitt County (4-2) will play in a tournament in Leesburg on Saturday.

Trailing 4-0 when weather stopped its game against M&M Diesel on Tuesday and down 5-0 after three innings on Thursday, Harrell Auto Electric rallied to score nine runs in the final three innings to win 9-6 and claim the Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks and Recreation Department’s Mite League girls softball championship.
