MOULTRIE — The Colquitt County middle school tennis teams were tested on Wednesday at the Lynda Moseley Tennis Complex, but came away with a sweep of visiting Hahira.
The middle school Lady Packers won their singles matches and needed each one in a 3-2 victory.
The Colquitt County boys 4-1. Both teams remain unbeaten at 3-0.
Conley Ward won at No. 1 singles for the middle school girls, defeating Taylor Everett 8-1.
At No. 2 singles, Courtney Terrell won over Laina Taylor 8-4.
Anna Barber won at No. 3 singles, defeating Rachel Fricker 8-1.
At No. 1 doubles, Colquitt County’s Desiree Cash and Rachel Bostick fell to Haley Tubbs and Deven Borderline 4-8.
Haley Trebony and Camille Kirkland fell at No. 2 doubles to Hahira’s Maggie Wisenbaker and Erin Jones 5-8.
In a pair of extra doubles matches, Colquitt County’s Taylor Mock and Tanna Knight defeated Julia Pitchford and Rolo Alli 6-5(8-6) and Christine Barber and Anna Barber won over Krishna Sanchez and Rachel Fricker 6-2.
The Colquitt County boys also swept their singles matches.
Nick Nichols won over Dylan Rogers 8-1 at No. 1.
At No. 2, Nick Mobley defeated Landon Miley 8-0.
And Nick Cordista completed the sweep at No. 3, defeating Max Wang 8-7(7-5).
Colquitt’s No. 1 doubles team of Jay Tolbert and Cody Jenkins had little trouble, winning 8-0 over Greg Rasmussen and Ryan Paul.
At No. 2 doubles, John Buck Eunice and Cory Glow fell to Josh Pricker and Trent Parker 7-8(3-7).
In extra matches, Colquitt County Donovan Price and Micah Edwards fell to Ryan Paul and Greg Rasmussen 3-6; Lance Shealy and Ashton Owens lost to Landon Miley and Dylan Rogers 2-6; and Andy Alekseichuk and Donovan Price fell to Landon Miley and Dylan Rogers 3-6.
The middle school teams will travel to meet Valdosta Middle School next Wednesday at the Valdosta State University courts.
