Keith third in Georgia Women's Amateur

Colquitt County’s Anna Leigh Keith finished third in the 80th annual Georgia Women’s Amateur Championship that concluded Thursday at Idle Hour Club in Macon. Keith shot a 70-74-74 for a 218 and finished seven shots back of Mariah Stackhouse of Flat Creek Club in Peachtree City, and Dori Carter of Valdosta Country Club. Stackhouse, 15, won the championship in a three-hole playoff over Carter after making up a five-shot deficit in the final round. She trailed Carter by one shot going into the final hole, but got the birdie she needed to win. Stackhouse also won the 2008 Georgia Women’s Amateur when she also needed a three-hole playoff to do it. Keith, who plays out of Sunset Country Club, will play at Vanderbilt next season. The tournament is sponsored by the Georgia Women’s Golf Association.
