MOULTRIE — Colquitt County High divers Ann Perry Blank, Kelsey Goodman and Nic Price have been named high school All-Americans by the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Assocation.
Both Blank and Price finished second in the Georgia High School Association’s Class AAAAA state diving meet held in February at Marist School in Atlanta.
Goodman was ill and did not compete in the state championships this year, but was the state champion in both 2007, as a freshman, and 2008 as a sophomore.
Blank, a junior, scored a 442.85, and finished just 10.90 points behind state champion Ansley Long of Kennesaw Mountain.
Price had been out of competitive diving for three years, but returned this year and made a run at a state championship as a senior.
The NISCA High School All-American selection committee of up to 20 former divers and coaches reviews submitted applications and DVDs and select the top 260 high school divers — 130 girls and 130 boys — who receive All-American awards.
Those honored represent the top 1 percent of all high school divers in the nation in grades 9 through 12.
