MOULTRIE — The Moultrie- Colquitt County 10-and-under A All Stars defeated the Thomasville A’s 12-8 on Monday and will advance to today’s championship game of GRPA District III tournament being held in Bainbridge.
Colquitt will play the winner of Monday’s losers’ bracket finale between the Thomasville A’s and Bainbridge.
Hayden Bledsoe, Buck Blalock and Kevin Snyder each went 3-for-3 in the game. Snyder is now 10-for-10 in the tournament.
Colquitt County won its first two games of the tournament on Saturday. Wheeler Hunnicutt led off the first game against Crisp County with a home run to lead the Colquitt County to a 21-7 victory.
Colquitt banged out 25 hits in the game and played stellar defense.
In the second game, the Colquitt County found itself down 5-0 after one inning, only to come back and win 15-6 in a hard-fought game.
Logan Wheeler smashed a two-run home run in the third inning to put the Colquitt County up for good.
Then an eight-run outburst in the fourth inning put the game out of reach.
Leading hitters for the Colquitt County in the two Saturday games were Kevin Snyder, who went 7-for-7 and Noah Moore who went 6-for-6.
