Tennis tourney was held on Thursday

MOULTRIE — The Georgia Games Tennis Tournament was held Thursday with 18 participants.

The tournament was a round-robin format with everyone playing each other.

The 16 and under boys division was won by Blake Jenkins with Brandon Oaks placing second and David Forehand placing third. There was a tie for second between Oaks, Forehand and Coby King, so the total number of games won by each was used to break the tie. Jenkins won over King 8-1; Oaks 8-5; Jay Tolbert 8-0; Scott Jacobs 6-0; and Forehand 6-1. Oaks won over Jacobs 8-1; King 6-3; and Tolbert 6-0. Forehand won over Oaks 8-5; Jacobs 8-0; and Tolbert 6-4. King won over Tolbert 8-2; Oaks 8-4; and Jacobs 6-0. Tolbert won over Jacobs 8-2.

The 16 and under girls division was won by Erica Mobley with Rachel Funderburk placing second and Anna Barber placing third. Mobley won over Funderburk 6-3; Alden Rykard 6-0; Barber 6-2; Heather Hardy 6-0; and Camille Kirkland 6-1. Funderburk won over Barber 6-1; Hardy 6-1; Kirkland 6-1; and Rykard 6-2. Barber won over Kirkland 6-1; Rykard 6-2; and Hardy 6-4. Kirkland won over Hardy 7-6; and Rykard 6-2. Rykard won over Hardy 6-2.

The 12 and under boys division was won by Cody Jenkins with Jud Jones placing second and Buck Blalock placing third. Jenkins won over Jones 6-3; Cory Glow 6-1; Blalock 6-4; Lance Shealy 41-; and Micah Edwards 4-1. Jones won over Edwards 6-1; Glow 6-2; Blalock 4-0; and Shealy 4-0. Blalock won over Edwards 7-5; Shealy 6-0; and Glow 4-0. Edwards won over Shealy 6-1; and Glow 4-1. Glow won over Shealy 7-6.
