Hudson May first in cross country meet

MOULTRIE — Hudson May took first place to lead the Colquitt County middle school boys cross country team in the Blue Devil Invitational in Tifton on Saturday.

Also in top six for the middle school Packers were Steven Johnson, who was third; Garrett May, fifth; and Dominique Hall, sixth.

For the middle school girls, Katie Russell was seventh; Kaydee Mullis eighth; and Kayla Webbe 10th. Medals were awarded to the top 10 in the middle school. Amber Boyd just missed out with an 11th place.

There was no team score announced, but coach Link Whittaker said he believed both teams were each either first or second.

Also competing were Tift, Lowndes, Bainbridge, Berrien, Ben Hill and Valdosta.

Also competing for Colquitt County were Luke Brinson, Jared Brown, Cody Mullis, Michael Wilkes, Morgan Hart, Cayla Rogers, Abreyanna Rushing, Vivian Larson, Nita Zamora, Tamera Edwards and Tiffany Smith.

From our first finisher to our last showed real effort, boys and girls. We'll be in bainbridge next week which is usually a meet with a few more teams and should be even more competitive.
