VSU to host Science Saturday

VALDOSTA — Valdosta State University will host its third Science Saturday from 9 a.m. – noon on Saturday, Feb. 23, in the Bailey Science Center. This is the third Science Saturday of the series and the first of the spring semester.



The event, titled “Biology: The Diversity of Life,” will explores slithering serpents, amazing amphibians and creepy crawlies. Kids will also have the opportunity to make a mini microscope.



The Science Saturday program is part of the College of Arts and Sciences STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Initiative. The goal of the STEM initiative is to encourage students to major in STEM areas and help students succeed in those programs. The program puts science and math into a fun and entertaining context and allows students to see basic scientific principles in action.



Science Saturday is free and open to the public.
