Rant and Rave for 12/04/12

MOULTRIE — Confront them

“I routinely read in this column where people are complaining about the city council, school board and county commission. Here’s a thought. Attend their meetings and confront them on these issues."

Dangerous

“On Monday morning, the fog was so thick around Moultrie one could barely see to drive. Yet, it was incredible how many people were driving without their lights on. What are you people thinking?"

Turn lights on!

“Consider this, It's Monday, Dec 3, very, very foggy out. People, you wonder why there are so many accidents on days like this. It's not that you are ignorant, you know it's the law. You must have on your headlights when vision is this low. I saw at least 60 percent of vehicles this morning with no lights at all. If I hit you, and you don't have your lights on, you are only asking for it."

About time

“Well, well! Saxby, you are sounding like a senator for all Americans. I think it's about time. To heck with 'party affiliation'.

"Could you have finally realized that folks like Grover Norquist are more dangerous to all of America, and especially middle America, than any of our over-seas combatants."

Bitter people

“Why is it that some people are just bitter about everything? The cost of going to the game is probably being paid by the football boosters. Let the children have these experiences of going out of Moultrie and seeing how the rest of Georgia is doing it. Sports and Band can have a very positive effect on students and their growth. Football is king and there is nothing that the ranter can do to change it. He or she is just an unhappy person. Go Packers!"

Football is legal

“I want to state my opinion again please. Football is a legal endeavor. It’s something the majority of the public enjoys. So get over it."

Compare

“Okay, before all of you raise cain about the increase in your share of the health insurance in the county, call a local agent and have him quote you and your family and individual policy. Not only look at the premium but other items as well. Probably a minimum of $2500.00 deductible, co pays etc. Be thankful you have health insurance."

Laying blame

“Blaming a teacher for all the problems with education is like blaming a doctor of all the sickness we find in our society."

Gifted program

“In reference to gifted at middle school! My son went through gifted at R.B.Wright and the middle school and I have to say... middle school gifted was the best! It’s when it gets real, challenges the students and keeps them focused!"
