Stating obvious
"You’re absolutely right. Football is king in this area. And that’s okay. It’s not illegal. It’s socially acceptable. And most importantly, it’s what the fans have decided will be the top sport. Isn’t America great?"
Whining
"You are trying to tie football to class size now? Why not tie it to cancer and pot holes while you’re at it. We were all there on career day. You made your choice, the coaches made theirs. Keep on and ‘whining’ will become the top sport here."
Opinions
“Everyone has an opinion. That is our freedom and right. So why do some of you want to ridicule people for their opinions.Quit being narrow minded and respect others for their opinions. Just because you don't agree doesn't make their opinion wrong."
Makers, takers
“A ranter was commenting on makers and takers as if they were a maker. It's wonderful to see a maker here. I had no idea we had a multi-millionaire living in town. The ‘blue states’ have a tendency of being where wealthier people live while ‘red states’ have a tendency to be where unemployment and government payouts are common. Are you sure you're a maker outside this town? Maybe you should check the size of your pond before bragging how big of a fish you are."
Hindsight
“Now the Republican Party has decided it has to be more inclusive with its ideas. Too bad we couldn’t see this fact of life when a bunch of clowns were seeking the nomination. This was our best chance to take back the White House and essentially we had a costume party instead of a political party. By the way I’m a Republican, though a frustrated one."
Magnet school
“My child won't attend a magnet school under the current director. I refuse to let her go to the ‘Gifted Center’ so she can build a birdhouse. We can do that at family project time at Lowes or Home Depot. It's time for a change in leadership and time for the school board to take control."
Great idea
“Dr. Yearta wants to start a magnet school? I hadn't heard that before, but I think it's a magnificent idea. To the Chicken Little who claimed that it would lead to closing the community schools, how many Gifted kids do you think there are? I've forgotten the exact numbers, but by definition, it's something like the top 2%."
School reform
“I am so grateful the charter school amendment passed,we are in desperate need of school reform, the current system is outdated and maybe...just maybe we can replace some staff members that have no business in school leadership positions."
