MOULTRIE — I agree

“I agree about the issue of class sizes at the elementary school. My child has almost 30 students in his class, yet Gray has 9 PE teachers! Williams has 6. Dr. DePaul, isn't it time you step up as our school leader and address the issue? Stop letting your assistant superintendents make the decisions."

More activities

“If Moultrie had more activities for young people, the young people would not be misbehaving at the football games. Moultrie is such a boring place for teenagers to grow up. Develop some businesses that will give teenagers somewhere to let off some their energy. Oh! Moultrie is also boring for middle, upper age adults too. Going to church will not be the answer to this situation."

School lunches

“School lunches have changed from when I was a student. I have heard complaints from cafeteria workers about the healthy food being served. Saying ‘children will not eat it.’ A solution : Why not make it taste good? Stop just opening a can or bag and pouring it in a warmer."

Remove medians

“I have driven down 5th Ave near R.D. Smith Youth Center and 6th Ave. at Drew Park. For the life of me I can see no advantage of having a median down the middle of the street. It has always been a safety issue. There are no other two lane roads with a wide median. So, how about removing them."

More to story?

“To ‘unfair’ who claims her brother is serving 15 years for a first offense of selling drugs. You have either left out  a lot of information or are just plain lying. A first offender is this county would never get that much time unless there were many extenuating circumstances. No way."

Slow down

“Please to all who drive through Pine Valley Circle, please slow down! There are small children in our neighborhood. Also, please consider placing a sign saying,’Slow down, children at play’!"

Thanks

“Thank you to all the youth volunteers who gave up two of their weekends to make Reed Bingham State Park's Haunted House and Hay Ride a fun night for hundreds of people. Without these volunteers, such events wouldn't be possible."

New meters

“New city meters...I agree, a scam. My bill has also gone way higher. We have used less, opened windows. I don’t cook daily, etc. There are 2 people in  a 1 bedroom home and my bill is higher than 7 people is 3 bedroom home next door."

Crotch rocket

“To the man on the crotch rocket careening down South Main at the speed of light. Be careful. It's only a matter of time before EMTs have to scrape you off the pavement. I pray it is not in front of my house."

I’ve often complained that instead of talking to a robot on the telephone, I would relish communication with a warm body.  Once I even spoke to a janitor who just happened to be passing by the ringing phone. He couldn’t help me with my issue, but it was comforting to know that not everyone in the building had been called in for an IRS audit.

  • Much appreciation

    Dear editor:
On Tuesday, May 14, many graduates were honored with awards and scholarships.
Former Colquitt County High School marketing instructor, Ron Lampman, was an additional honoree. An anonymous donor established a scholarship in Mr. Lampman’s memory.

    Dear editor:
American pride and justice in our public revenue gathering service has been damaged beyond repair.

I would like to share a miracle God did in my life and in the life of my family via intercessory prayer.

  • dwain walden.tif Don’t forget about the camera crew

Sometimes I think I get way too critical of TV programming to actually enjoy a show. I know going in that even on reality shows, much of it has been staged. And on dramas, so much is predictable.

I’ve often wondered how many of these “storm chasers” are scientists and how many of them are just adrenaline junkies.

Should the Boy Scouts accept gay members and/or leaders?

No. Homosexuality goes against Scouting's moral foundation.
Allowing youth members is OK, but not leaders.
