Frustration
“I think we are all frustrated with the crime issue in our community. In that frustration, let’s not be quick to blame law enforcement. For one thing, they are limited with manpower. Also, they cannot anticipate where crime is going to take place and be there ... no one can. And as a community, let’s resolve to take a more active part when and where we can to report what we know about these crimes and to take steps to help prevent them. When it comes to our drug problem, I’m thinking that treatment for addictions must be more vigorously addressed.
Says alot
“That 20 percent turnout in the last election says a lot. And it’s not good. I agree with the editorial. There’s a lot of hypocrisy going on. Every time I walk past the monument on the courthouse square I feel compelled to apologize for our apathy. So how many of those who didn’t vote are gung ho for us invading Iraq and Afghanistan?
Remembering
“Mr. Walden, I had a Barlow knife myself. I wore out the right side pocket of my jeans carrying it. Thanks for causing me to reminisce. I didn’t know your teacher but I had some just like her.
BP guy
“That BP guy can now get on with his life as he said to the media.
Norman Park
“I would like to thank the City of Norman Park for nothing. We pay some of the highest taxes in the state for the city to waste it. We don’t have a 24-hour police department but we have two new police cars and one slightly used one. We provide the chief with a take-home car when he lives in another county. They say he’s on call but if anything happens worst than a jay walker, the sheriff’s office will have to handle it. If anyone receives a speeding ticket I would take it to court because the patrol cars aren’t properly marked to meet state law OCGA 40-8-91(a).
Your yard
“If you think the terrorist in Guantanamo are indeed ‘poor prisoners’ then offer to let them be housed in your back yard. I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem with them being near your children.
A chance
“I'm so tired of everyone complaining about what Obama is not doing. Give the man a chance to try and make some changes.
It took us how long to get this way. A lot of these same problems were going on when Bush was in Office, but no one seems to what to blame him for anything.
Everyone should know it takes time for things to happen and as in bad as shape as we are in it's not going to happen over night.
