Rants and Raves for Dec 8

Gossiping

“I also noticed another form of rudeness. I was at a local business, and the owner and one his is friends was talking and low rating one of their other so -called friend in the shop with customers listening to everything. Guess what, the person was my relative. Gossiping is very rude to do in a place of business.

On tipping

“If you don't have the money for a tip then you don't have the money to eat out. Servers depend on their tips because they only make $3.63 a hour so please tip them. They are working to serve you. That;s why they call them servers. They know those who don't tip and they don't forget that, so if you can afford to eat out you can afford a tip.

Thanks

“Yes, thank you to the sherriff's department for helping protect Norman Park.  I hope more citizens of Norman Park show up at each council meeting to voice their concerns. If you can't go to the meeting, just go to the Norman Park cafe and tell Mr. Mayor.

In response

“The tax commissioner recently sent out a notice with the tax bills implying that the county had no choice but to include a $200-300 tax hike resulting from the loss of homeowners' tax relief grant.

That is disingenuous. I know for a fact that much smaller communities, including Adel, Cook County, Sparks, and Lenox, have absorbed that loss without passing the burden on to taxpayers.

You wonder what bloated salaries and entitlement programs the county is supporting.

Applause

“In the past few days we have had some miserable, wet weather.  For those people who have to work during and in those periods of wet and cold it has to be tough.  I say thanks to you people.  But I want to send a personal thanks to the carrier who delivers my newspaper on Mitchell County Line Road. The paper was double wrapped and was not wet when picked up from the end of the gravel lane.  Great work! Thanks from James.

Cage fighting

“Do you even know what cage fighting is? I guess you are just opposed at jiu-jitsu, judo, karate, boxing, kickboxing, wrestling. Hint: These are included in cagefighting. All these sports take discipline and strategy.  Do you realize how ignorant your rant is?

Sell tickets

“Cage fighting? Why don’t we just sell tickets and concessions to the stuff that goes on here on a regular basis, especially during the weekends. Yes, I’m being facetious. I just think we have a horrible crime problem here.
