Be inclusive

“You say that Obama’s presidency is based on lies? Well guess what, we’re at a war in Iraq based on lies. You see, lies abound in both parties. Neither owns the franchise. So let’s be in inclusive.

Kudzu

“Enjoyed the column about the bug that eats kudzu. It must be similar to the bug that the federal government turns loose on our funds.

Wrong answer

“While in China, Obama is saying it's the American people who are causing this severe recession. No, Mr. Obama, it is your out of control spending and higher taxes that is causing this severe recession. Polls indicate that America, both liberal and conservative, is losing confidence in you. I've already lost it.

Skin color

“Obama wasn't elected based on his lies. He was elected based on his skin color. The liberal media doesn't want to acknowledge that. The liberal media of all colors, figured if they had a president of color they could could push their liberal and dangerous ideas on the conservative people who would be afraid to criticize Obama for fear of being labeled a racist or un-American.

Food stamps

“I have friends that get food stamps, medicaid, and WIC. When I tried to get any of these I was denied. They make more money than I do. I was denied medicaid when I was pregnant because I made a little too much money. Everyone I know has it. Why am I not entitled to something? They have $1500 house payment, drive brand new vehicles but you will see them in line with their food stamp card!!!

Football

“As a former member of the 50th Regiment band, I would like to say to the current members - GET OVER IT. This is South Georgia: football is king, whether the team wins or loses. It's not fair but that's life. Enjoy the time that you're spending with your friends - that is the important part. In 20 years, you will look back and wish you were traveling 4 hours on a school bus with those people.

Funds wasted

“I just read that story about $98 billion in federal funds wasted. Now I realize this didn’t start yesterday. It’s been going for quite some time. It’s amazing what ‘we the people’ will stand for because we don’t stand up and do some serious complaining.

Fort Hood

“I’m not sure what an investigation at Ft. Hood is supposed to turn up. We know a madman killed and maimed a lot of people. But, probes must be done.

Saving the critters
Dear editor:
Wildlife rehabilitators, or rehabbers as they are known in the animal community, are very special people. They have acquired the knowledge and experience that is needed to work with injured and orphaned wildlife. Licensed by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, and if caring for federally protected species, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, a wildlife rehabilitator’s ultimate goal is to take an injured or orphaned animal, get it healthy and return it to its natural habitat.

The sky is falling! The sky is falling!
Remember back in the early sixties when people were digging bomb shelters in fear of the “Big One” being dropped on us? I recall how an alarm would go off at school, and we would get under our desks. What a joke! Get under our desks when one entire wall was glass!

What words can be added to so many that have been said in prayer and praise for our Haley? We have witnessed an outpouring of love and sacrifice for our families, and we truly cannot express our feelings of humility and gratitude.

What's at stake here?
Dear editor
It looks like one of my worst fears is about to happen. With President Obama’s withdrawal of all American troops from Iraq it appears the democratic government we set up in Iraq is getting ready to come apart. The Shiites and Sunnis are at each others throats and the Kurds and Turkey are already shooting at each other. Iran seems to be paused to take up the vacuum we will be left and obtain a nuclear weapon. In 2007 the Democrats were clamoring for President Bush to get our troops out of Iraq.
