Based on lies

“In case you hadn't noticed before now, Obama's whole campaign was based on nothing but lies. I hope the American people can see through those lies the next presidential election!

The laws

“To all those that blame the Humane Society for their woes, you need to get it in your head that the state, county and city make the ordinances and laws..The Humane Society has to enforce them. Getting mad at them is like blaming a deputy or policeman for enforcing the law.

Breast cancer

“My wife's breast cancer was discovered during her annual mammogram at 44 years old. Thankfully she is doing well now. I understand the government is recommending less frequent mammograms starting at 50 now. Since her diagnosis, many of our under- 50 friends have been diagnosed. Is this the change you wanted? Please remind

someone you love to get their mammogram today. Take charge of your own health.

Great Article

“Jeff Opheim's article was excellent. We are descriminating against kids who don't play sports. Local governments needs to spend less on sports and some tax dollars on the arts. After all artists pay taxes too. Not every child can be an athlete and needs to be supported in their artistic endeavors.

No books?

“Can someone explain why would our schools teach a class with no text books? The state cannot decide which book it should choose so our students don’t have a text book to study from. Why do I pay school tax so that books can be purchased, why aren’t they purchased? How can you fail a student that has no book to study.

Saving the critters
Dear editor:
Wildlife rehabilitators, or rehabbers as they are known in the animal community, are very special people. They have acquired the knowledge and experience that is needed to work with injured and orphaned wildlife. Licensed by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, and if caring for federally protected species, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, a wildlife rehabilitator’s ultimate goal is to take an injured or orphaned animal, get it healthy and return it to its natural habitat.

The sky is falling! The sky is falling!
Remember back in the early sixties when people were digging bomb shelters in fear of the “Big One” being dropped on us? I recall how an alarm would go off at school, and we would get under our desks. What a joke! Get under our desks when one entire wall was glass!

What words can be added to so many that have been said in prayer and praise for our Haley? We have witnessed an outpouring of love and sacrifice for our families, and we truly cannot express our feelings of humility and gratitude.

What's at stake here?
Dear editor
It looks like one of my worst fears is about to happen. With President Obama’s withdrawal of all American troops from Iraq it appears the democratic government we set up in Iraq is getting ready to come apart. The Shiites and Sunnis are at each others throats and the Kurds and Turkey are already shooting at each other. Iran seems to be paused to take up the vacuum we will be left and obtain a nuclear weapon. In 2007 the Democrats were clamoring for President Bush to get our troops out of Iraq.
