Dear editor:
This is a thank you to the Good Samaritan who recently stopped and helped my wife and I change a flat tire. I’m retired Navy. Both of us are a bit handicapped.
We were on Second Street near the Catholic Church. I was getting the spare tire out when the Good Samaritan appeared. His wife had noticed NAVY on the back of my cap and saw we were in trouble. She let us use her cell phone to call our appointment to let them know we were running late.
The Good Samaritan had served in Vietnam with the Marines and was disabled some himself. I tried to pay them for their work but they just said to pass the favor on.
I didn’t get their names so I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank them, and I hope that in someway I can return the favor.
