MOULTRIE — Seven Colquitt County residents reported they were or were related to someone who was a recent victim of property theft. Items reported stolen included a bicycle, electronics, guns, a lawn mower, jewelry, vehicle hubcaps and a purse with vouchers.
The value of the items reported stolen was $7,729. Those who reported incidents of property theft were:
• India Gammons, of Sixth Street Northwest, reported a group of black male juveniles attacked a juvenile and stole a cell phone Wednesday. The value of the stolen cell phone was $216.
• Wendy Barbara, of Cherokee Road, reported a thief stole a Dynacraft bicycle from under her carport between 6 a.m. and 4:53 p.m. Wednesday. The value of the stolen bicycle was $125.
• Tanerica Miller, of Fourth Avenue Northeast, reported a thief stole her purse, containing WIC vouchers, from her Dodge Caravan between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday. The value of the stolen items was $140.
• Marvin Thompson, of Woodland Drive, reported a thief stole the caps off the tires of his Ford Expedition between 7 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. The value of the stolen caps was $120.
• Michele Nichols, of Hawthorne Drive, reported a thief stole an RCA surround sound system, a Magnavox DVD player, a Sony PlayStation, a television converter box, a 13-inch computer monitor, a box of makeup and a hair straightening iron between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. Wednesday. The value of the stolen items was $1,440.
• W.D. Kennedy, of W.D. Kennedy Road, reported a thief stole an Owl Head .32-caliber pistol, an RG German .22-caliber rifle, two two-carat diamond rings and two pairs of two-carat diamond earrings between Jan. 1 and 5 p.m. Tuesday. The value of the stolen items was $4,500. Kennedy gave sheriff’s officers the name of a female suspect.
• Wyatt Smith, of Ticknor Road in Doerun, reported a thief stole a Craftsman riding mower from under his carport between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. The value of the stolen lawn mower was $1,188.
Arrests
Moultrie Police
• Melissa Ricks, 26, of 504 Overlook Drive, was charged Wednesday with five counts of deposit account fraud.
• Traci Nicole Kirkland, of 443 Country Drive, was charged Oct. 30 with no proof of insurance and registration required.
• Connie Demott Mathews, 50, of 504 Overlook Drive, was charged Wednesday with theft by shoplifting.
Colquitt County S.O.
• Jerry Winston Plymel, 48, of 345 E. Gate Circle in Norman Park, was charged Tuesday with battery (family violence).
• Carey Eldridge Spires, 42, of 5790 Highway 319 N., was charged Wednesday with battery (family violence).
Other Incidents
Moultrie Police
• David Pittman, of Elliot Brown Street, reported someone threw a rock through the windshield of his Chrysler LHS between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 8:08 a.m. Wednesday. Damage was $500.
• Joseph Nicolas reported someone dented the roof and hood of his Nissan Maxima while it was parked at C.A. Gray Junior High School on 11th Avenue Northwest Tuesday. Damage was estimated at $450.
Colquitt County S.O.
• Natasha Parrish, of Highway 319 North in Norman Park, reported someone scratched all over and scratched an obscenity onto the trunk of her Toyota Avalon between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 4:45 a.m. Thursday.
• Rhonda Powell, of Livingston Bridge Road in Omega, reported Wednesday someone used her name and information to open a Premier Bank credit card account April 16 and used it. The amount owed on the fraudulent account was $635.10.
