Rants and Raves for October 20

Be informed

“Citizens in District 1 should take advantage of the public forum with the candidates at the Ryce Center on Thursday night. Have your questions ready. What would they do to improve the district and Moultrie as a whole? Be informed!

Gas tanks

“ I am all for people making a living, but not on the backs of others. Please, don't let them install gas tanks on the vacant lot behind the DFC building. It is dangerous. The area is too small. The citizens living close to this location should let it be known how they feel.

Concerned

“I'm a parent of a Colquitt County High School student and just recently was shocked by something that I was told. My child came home and informed me that she had literally heard a group of her peers discussing the sale of illegal drugs and their intentions. This bothers me to the extreme! What is happening at that school nowadays?!

Norman Park

“ Unless things change soon, the legacy of the current council in Norman Park will be a lawless town, no infrastructure improvement and one poorly paved road.

How’s that for helping their community?

Impressed

“All Packers football players are in a church at least once each week; some even more often. A very large amount of them are courteous, well- mannered and say ‘thank you.’ Quite an achievement for young men.

Commitment

“One thing that has been ignored in the changing of the Packers: Coach Propst has shown the young players what commitment can do.

The boys are truly committed in so many ways. It even shows in my son at home.

Liberals

“Let’s see if I understand this. Liberals want the freedom to choose abortion and same sex marriage but not whether we have health care insurance....Huh?

Needing repair

“Enough about the stadium. It had a facelift a few years ago.

Our gym is what is in dire need of improvement. It is the most used sporting facility we have.

It is used for testing, basketball, wrestling, cheerleading practice and all kinds of school events. We have upgraded all middle school gyms, baseball, football softball etc.and our gym is getting in bad shape.

So let’s do something about it so when other towns are here its as presentable as our other facilities.
