Rants and Raves for Sept 1

The Moultrie Observer

| — Like the idea

“I like the idea of making better use of those transit busses we see around town. Who really knows what those buses are about, how you get on one and do they have regular routes?

The talk

“I knew we would be hearing a lot of talk about the new turf at the stadium after losing two games. The turf has nothing to do with the team except to give them a better place to play. The Pack will be okay and will grow. It’s about building a program not just a team.

Appreciate it

“I  also got a letter changing my doctor's appointment. And I was GLAD. I rarely check my answering machine and I don't always get message that are left at work. I check my mail everyday!

Big picture

“I’m glad that we live in a country where we can complain about the football stadium, disparity in sports, doctors’ offices, potholes and race tracks. I think we also can take some time to applaud what we would consider the good stuff. I’ve read a lot lately about people making donations, doing volunteer work, winning awards, etc. This is a great country indeed. Let’s try to keep the big picture in perspective.

Intellectual

“Whoever said you had to be intellectual to write about politics? That would be to assume that politics itself is intellectual. What a misconception.

Cowboys, Indians

“I think Mr. Walden is very intellectual. I just read his column about cowboys and Indians and found it very thought provoking. I realize he was edging on sacrilege when he mentioned Randolph Scott but good commentary should push the envelope.

Dog rules

“This is to my neighbors. You can have only two dogs on your property inside the city limits. Get rid of the extras or I am going to call the city manager and compliance officer!

Deputy's life

“I am also a deputy's wife and agree with the previous post. Their pay sucks! I also make more than my husband and I don't risk my life every day for stupid people. They have to put up with all kinds of crap from people of all sorts and don't get any respect from anyone in the community. They do the best they can with what they have. Even when they are off duty they are still on. I think this community needs to stop putting down our law enforcement .

Common sense

“Mr. Walden's job is NOT to write about politics. He writes on common sense, which he has plenty of and I'm happy that he shares that with us.
