MOULTRIE — Oops! We missed it
“Mr Chafin I would like to thank you for such a great letter to the editor. I think our Colquitt County history is important and I am proud that we have been playing football here in Colquitt County since 1913. However, we here in Colquitt County have missed our 100th year celebration.
"The 2012 season makes our 100th year playing football and not the 2013 season. I did not realize this either until I noticed that Valdosta also started playing football in 1913 and they are celebrating their 100th year this season. I thought to myself how could this be their 100th year until I done the math (with I’m not claiming to be great at) and Valdosta is right, this season does mark the 100th season for both schools."
Which Bible?
“I’m about tired of some nitwit telling me that because I’m a Democrat that I’m not a Christian. That would imply that Republicans are Christian by party affiliation. What Bible did you read?"
I have hope
“I voted for Obama and I'm a hard working, happy white woman, who is educated, well read and have never received public assistance because I'm neither a big farmer nor a welfare mother. I have hope for our nation because I rarely watch cable news, which feeds doom and gloom and untruths to dedicated fans. It sounds like the ‘doomers and gloomers’ in rant and rave expected the messiah to be elected. If you hadn't elected the devil in 2000 you wouldn't need a messiah now."
Football is king
“You don't really think a coach is going to teach a full load, do you? Our athletic director has a contract that states he must be on campus by 2:30 each day. He is making a six figure salary. Why you ask? It is simple--football is king in Colquitt schools."
Your own petard
“To all of the people who are convinced that the U.S. has forsaken God and is surely on the path to destruction because of Obama: Maybe if you would espouse a message that isn't ‘We are right, and everyone else is subhuman and un-American’ you would have gotten more votes. Hoisted by your own petard."
Reminder
“Whenever I need a nice reminder of why the GOP was crushed in the election, all I need to do is look at all of the hate-filled idiocy that is accepted as gospel amongst the disciples of Faux News and Rush all over the rant and rave."
Eating crow
“I learned this from the presidential election: Columnists Dick Morris and Michael Barrone are not the geniuses they think they are. Maybe they should get out among the rank and file public more often instead of pontificating from inside the beltway mentality. Morris will be eating crow for a while."
