Rant and Rave for 12/13/12

MOULTRIE — Not fair

“I don't really have a problem with the rise in insurance rates/social security as much as certain county employees getting raises every year while others don't. They’re the chosen ones. That’s not fair. Food for thought, if all the county employees quit, except the chosen ones, nothing would ever get done. The chosen ones rely on others to do their jobs."

Heavy traffic

“It looks like the house on 15th street S.E. was having a black Friday sale with all the traffic that was in and out of the yard Friday night. I wonder if it will take law enforcement as long to stop this as it did the chicken fighting!"

Buzzard city

“Thanks to the person that brought up the buzzard situation. I drove down Hillcrest and buzzards are everywhere. Some were even in the middle of the street. There has to be something that can be done."

Political irony

“I routinely hear people say that they wish Bill Clinton was back in office. Well, curiously some of these are the same people who were constantly blasting him when he was there."

Courtesy, please

“What makes people take on Jekyll and Hyde personalities once they get in a car. Many times I see someone turn on his blinker to merge into another lane and a car in that other lane will speed up to keep them from merging. It’s almost like he thinks he’s going to get a trophy for keeping the other car out. Hell, this is not roller derby! Show some courtesy!"

Think about it

“Think about this the next time you go to your faucet for a drink of water: Buzzards are roosting and pooping on and around our water tower."

Hello!

“Hello health department! Hello! Is anyone concerned about out buzzard roost in the city? Just wondering."

What's status?

“Haven’t heard much about the cock fighting operation lately. Has it gone to grand jury? Do we expect it to just go away? What’s the status?"

Tax exemptions

“I just read where our farmers can get more tax exemptions. Now given that most of these farmers are staunch Republicans, how does this fit into that thing about reducing ‘entitlements?’ Sometimes I get so confused."

Serious students

“Call it a charter school or a magnet school or whatever school you choose, but we need to do something so that serious students can progress and not be held back by those who don't want to learn."

Great job

“Applause to our ‘Road Warriors’ Packers. You gave us some great Friday nights!"
