Thanking community for its support of band projects

MOULTRIE — Dear editor:

As Director of Bands at Colquitt County High School, I would like to thank the community for reaching out to our band students on Wednesday, Nov 21st. About 40 students participated in the traditional Bagging for Tips at Harvery's and this year we added Winn Dixie. Students are raising money to go on their spring trip to Orlando and Daytona.

They will participate in the pre-ceremonies to the Daytona 500, go to the race, spend a day at Universal in Orlando, go see the Amazing Blue Man Group, and get to race small stock cars while on the trip.

The students really enjoyed their time at the stores and were very grateful for all donations! We have had an outstanding year supporting our Packer Nation and look forward to a new era next year- which will bring exciting modern music; explosive drum solos; dancing and newly choreographed flag work; maybe even some of the whole band dancing... and most of all exciting music for the community to enjoy under our Friday Night Lights!

It is our goal as a staff to bring entertainment to the field while teaching our students of CCHS pride, honor, dedication. Thank you, again, for all of your support. We look forward to seeing you at the grocery stores again the Saturday before Christmas.

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and let's make sure we all remember the real reason for the season.
