Rant and Rave for 1/30/13

— — — —

In response

“So to the letter writer who obviously thinks Hillary Clinton should be tarred and feathered or worse because of the embassy attack since it happened on her watch, then what would you have proposed for George W. Bush, given that the Twin Towers came down on his watch? Just wondering ... because terrorists kill both Republicans and Democrats I’ve noticed."

Disrespect

“My husband, a farmer, and the people he works with work hard to maintain our family farm. It is terrible for them to go to work and see crops, service roads and equipment destroyed by people that use our land for recreational purposes. Signs do not help- they are ignored or disappear. I wonder how they would like it if I drove my ATV in their yard cutting doughnuts, ruining driveways and doing whatever I wanted on their property. Then I can tell them, ‘I have the right to have fun’, if they have the audacity to ask me what I'm doing!"

Party politics

“The ‘oust incumbents’ ranter does not understand. These days the politicians are too busy with party politics to do the peoples’ work for which they were elected. Just listen to the debates. They don't really tell you what they are FOR."

Urban legend

“Folks, the concept of term limits is only that ... it’s urban legend no less than the abominable snowman. Forget about it. But let’s start holding these lawmakers accountable."

Stock market

“For you investors that bail out when there is a big drop in the stock market, now that the market is near an all time high, isn't it time for you to jump back in, buying high of course?"

An accident

“The stock market is pretty strong looks like. The Dow Jones is near 14,000. Well, it must be purely an accident, an anomaly I guess. Because everything was supposed to go to hell in a handbasket when Obama was re-elected."

Legal action?

“It has been over a year since Jacob Sutton was killed while driving a tractor. No legal action has been taken. We call upon the D.A.'S office to see that someone answers for this."

Praying for you

“Yes, people are scared and buying guns! And the dealers are exploiting their fear and price gouging! I have over 252 AR15s and a few AK47s. But I am one of the few responsible gun owners the weapons had been secured the past tragedies could have been avoided! Gun ownership is a right, however, owners should be required to pass a training class on safety and responsible ownership before receiving their weapon... I mean what’s the difference between a car and a gun ? They both have the ability to kill unless properly operated!"

Should the Boy Scouts accept gay members and/or leaders?

No. Homosexuality goes against Scouting's moral foundation.
Allowing youth members is OK, but not leaders.
