Rant and Rave for 12/29/12

MOULTRIE — Whom to blame?

“Let's be serious. Man in New York kills two firefighters . Where does the fault lie. Guns? No! It is our lax judicial system. This man had beaten a person to death years earlier and yet was allowed to plea bargain. He served a few years so he could kill again. The fault lies at the feet of the judge, district attorney and defense attorney when he was allowed to plea bargain. Our judicial system is at fault."

Won't help

“Do you seriously think an armed guard, or something of the like, placed at each school, is really going to help anything? Even if there were multiple, it still wouldn't help. There will always be places of the school, at any given time, without one of them there. If the person knows the area, and they always do, then they'll know where and when to strike. And Lord knows if they're insane enough to attack in the first place then they're insane enough to attack the guard first, and then look! They have yet another gun."

Tattoos

“An article in the Observer, written by Dr. Anthony Komaroff, pertained to safe tattoo parlors. By all means, please use a 'parlor' that has a proven reputation, and do not do 'the home' thing. The tattoo's I see, vary in style, design and 'class', but the home done oness look like they came from the pig parlor.

Before you get 'inked', talk to someone that has actually decided to have theirs removed. Ask them why they changed their mind!"

Upset

“I called the Humane Society for my neighbor the other day. He'd asked me because he has no power, water, or way of going. The Humane society had come out but told me they could not "Take the man's dogs because some woman called." They also couldn't go into the drainage pipe to get them out and were afraid to get near the puppies because of the mother dog. They were afraid she'd bite. Last night we had bad weather and a lot of rain. This morning, the puppies are drowned in the ditch. Nice going Moultrie Human Society. Way to do your job."

Enjoyed them

“Thank you so much for printing the Letters to Santa from decades ago ! It was a strong reminder of how things have changed."

Suggestion

“People are always quick to condemn the gun used but please take a minute to consider the person who pulled the trigger. We need to bring back the insane asylums of days gone by and let's quit this crap of political correctness and get these people some help before they go off the deep end."

My renewal

“I have just renewed my membership in the NRA. If you value your right to self-protection and self-preservation then you should do the same."
