Rant and Rave for 01/26/13

MOULTRIE — Buzzards just roosting

“The buzzards don’t come into Moultrie looking for food. They just roost here. They seek food all over the county. And they do us a great service."

Assault weapons

“So it would take Withers Auditorium to hold all those people in the county who own military assault-type weapons. What? Do you people hold conventions are something. You must dream about your guns and have statues of ‘Rambo’ in your bedroom. Well, at least I feel safe now knowing that you can protect my family if the Sandinistas ever come up the Ochlocknee to take us over."

There's a difference

“To "in context" If you reeally read and understood those two amendments you would recognize one has to do with the people outside of uniform and the other after you are in uniform.

"What everyone fails to read is the last few words "shall not be infringed"."

Quote, then vote

“Just imagine if all the people who quote the Constitution should actually turn out and vote when we have elections. On second thought, that scares me a little."

Recovery

“The stock market is going strong. What went wrong? We were supposed to go to hell in a handbasket by now."

Dead animals?

“Not only are buzzards carnivores, they are scavengers. They eat dead animals. There must be a lot of dead animals somewhere close to town to feed so many buzzards. That’s what our officials should be looking for."

20 year sentence

“I’m glad that drug runner who has been helping poison our community got that 20 years without chance of parole. Let’s hope some of these other slugs are aware of that sentence."

Gun like a parachute

“We have a right to protect ourselves with a gun. A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again."

Charity drop boxes

“Just for the community's information. The drop off boxes being placed around moultrie for donations takes money out of local charities hands. Those boxes belong to a company out of Alabama and yes, all the money goes to Alabama. Please support our local Charities that in return supports causes in our own communities."

Religion should be private

“Bottom line - people who don't believe in God do not want someone else giving bibles to their kids. Do YOU open the door and accept pamphlets from the Jehovahs Witnesses? How mad would YOU be if your kid came home with Muslim religious papers? re you telling your child to accept those? If someone doesn't believe, they don't believe. That is a private family matter."

Should the Boy Scouts accept gay members and/or leaders?

No. Homosexuality goes against Scouting's moral foundation.
Allowing youth members is OK, but not leaders.
