Jeanette Hurst Kent

DOERUN — Jeanette Hurst Kent, 75, of Doerun, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Tomlinson officiating. Interment will follow at Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

Born Sept. 2, 1934, in Worth County, Mrs. Kent was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Hurst and the late Lucille Bryan Hurst Davidson. She was a resident of Worth County for most of her life, and she had worked at Hillcrest School in the lunchroom and sat with the elderly. She was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church and was active in the WMU, Ladies in Action, SAM’s Club and sang in the choir.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Burris A. “B.A.” Kent; two daughters, Lynda Diane Kent and Angela Kent Adams.

Survivors include two sons, Alan Kent and wife Terry of Doerun and Geoffrey “Geoff” Kent and wife Shannon of Sylvester; a sister, Oleeta Aspinwall of LaGrange; seven grandchildren, Chris Storey and wife Ginger, Kyle Adams and wife Jennifer, Jessica Clayton and husband Eric, Bryan Kent, Brandon Kent, Kristi Adams and Jordan Kent; and three great-grandchildren, Avery Adams, Anslee Adams and Hogan Storey.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Banks Funeral Home in Sylvester is in charge of arrangements.
