Henry Roscoe Lipsey

MOULTRIE — Henry Roscoe Lipsey, 94, of Moultrie, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Thomas Parrish and the Rev. Dion Brown officiating. Interment will follow in New Elm Cemetery.

Born May 14, 1916, in Sycamore, Ga., he was the son of the late John R. Lipsey and Mary Olivia Tilley Lipsey. He was a retired truck driver and was a member of Funston United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Blanche Goff Lipsey and his second wife, Frazier Presley Lipsey; and one son, Donald Lipsey.

Survivors include two sons, Johnny Lipsey and wife Donna of Pavo and Wayne Lipsey and wife Loretta of Brandon, Fla.; one daughter, Marie Heath and husband George of Clarksville, Tenn.; one stepdaughter, Frances Whitfield and husband Leonard of Meigs; a special friend, Garrison Gay of Pavo; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service, on Friday, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

The family may be contacted at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Lipsey, 11420 Tallokas Road in Pavo.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Cobb Funeral Chapel.
