Mary Lucille Warnock Taylor

CHAPEL HILL, Tenn. —  Mary Lucille Warnock Taylor, 95, of Chapel Hill, Tenn., died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, in Baker-Harrell-Faircloth Chapel with the Rev. John Eubanks officiating, assisted by the Rev. Steve Scarrow. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memory Gardens with Chuck Mercer, Tracy Mercer, Forrest Maynard, Donald Mercer, Victor Mercer, and Brian Saturday serving as pallbearers. The honorary pallbearers will be Blake and Bo Williams, Dean Benton, Daniel Murphy and Andrew Parker.

Born Aug. 15, 1915, in Townes, Ga., she was the daughter of the late John Benjamin Warnock and Addie Mae McDaniel Warnock. She was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Alliance Church of Moultrie.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dewey S. Mercer and E.J. Taylor; a son, Robert Leland Mercer; a daughter, June Carol Cole; and brothers, E.B. Warnock, Joe C. Warnock, and Willie D. Warnock.

Survivors include sons, Dewey “Johnny” Mercer and wife Ruth of Moultrie, Willie “Buddy” Mercer and wife Joyce of Moultrie; Danny Mercer and wife Diane of Jacksonville, Fla., Edward Mercer and wife Linda of Durham, N.C., Jackson Taylor and wife Pat of North Carolina, and Michael Taylor and wife Jessica of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughters, Mary Helen Fricks of Chapel Hill, Tenn., and Mary Blevins and husband Phillip of Middleburg, Fla.; 24 granddaughters, Vickie Davis, Marvene Holmes, Dana Mercer Benton and husband Jimmy, Patricia Mercer Smith and husband Timothy, Deweese Mercer, Tami Mercer Love and husband Winsel, Rhonda Mercer Merritt and husband C.J., Regina Mercer Ward and husband Randy, Saundra Mercer Whidby and husband Scott, Grace Schott and husband Greg, Malena Murphy, Tonya Taylor, Candace Taylor, Monica Taylor, Rachael Taylor, Angie Taylor, Erica Taylor, Rachael Taylor, Jessica Taylor, Candace C. Cole, Skyla Mercer, and Marie Oday and husband Adam; 12 grandsons, Chuck Mercer and wife Connie, Tracy Mercer and wife Tammie, Dewey Mercer, Donald Mercer and wife Missie, Michael Mercer and wife Lynn, Victor Mercer and wife Gina, Heath Mercer and wife Ragan, Brian Saturday and wife Angie, Ian Mercer, Daniel Murphy, Mike Taylor, Dusty Mercer, Keith Mercer, and Ronnie Mercer; 63 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be today, Sept. 2, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Baker-Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
