Betty Jean Houston Massey

Betty Jean Houston Massey, 69, of Pavo died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Darrell Owens officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memory Gardens.

Casketbearers will be John Arnold, Buck Dell, Devon Barton, Elijah Williams, Kevin Ryan and Courtney Olmstead.

Born March 2, 1943, in Moultrie, she was the daughter of the late Plas William Houston and Jewell Mae Morgan Houston. She was a retired seamstress with McTavish Industries.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Tommy Houston.

Survivors include her husband, Marion Roscoe Massey of Pavo; two sons, Allen M. Massey and significant other Cathy Tomlinson of Pavo and Randy G. Massey and significant other Melissa E. Jordan of Norman Park; one daughter, Melissa G. Hill and husband Keith Dell of Moultrie; two sisters, Sheila Houston of Moultrie and Hazel Suber of Pavo; three brothers, David Houston, Sonny Houston and Steve Houston, all of Moultrie; seven granddaughters; four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
