Mary Lou Lowery Hiers

MOULTRIE — Mary Lou Lowery Hiers, 95, of Moultrie, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, at Spalding Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at Sardis Cemetery with the Rev. Brad Bowen officiating.

Born July 21, 1912, in Bartow County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late W.D. and Mary Lou Bailey Lowery. She was a homemaker.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Simmie Hiers Sr., and a son, Simmie Hiers Jr.

Survivors include a son, Edward Hiers and wife Grace of Griffin, Ga.; grandchildren, Sue Hogan and husband Richard, Vickie Wright and husband Charles, Carol Key and husband Wesley, Ellen McCorvery and husband Teddy, Cindy Baker and husband Gary, Simmie Hiers III, Donna Mims and husband Greg, Janet Sieweke and husband John, John Hiers and wife Flor, and Susan Hiers; 14 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
