Property owner says worker pocketed cash

MOULTRIE — A Lenox man reported Monday that a former employee who oversaw rental houses in Colquitt and surrounding counties has pocketed money collected for rent, the Moultrie Police Department said.

Warren D. Robinson, 65, told police that the man has collected more than $15,000 but he was not sure how much of that amount was for Moultrie. Money has been withheld since January of this year, the police report said.

Tenants have given statements indicating they did pay rent, and Robinson was in the process of getting receipts for those payments, police said.

He reported that the former employee recently moved out of state.
