City council meets tonight

At its meeting Tuesday, the Moultrie City Council will discuss and decide upon a number of matters. Among those scheduled to be on the council agenda are:

• Conducting a public hearing and considering an alcoholic beverage license application for Dextra Dewayne Polite to sell beer for on premises consumption at the F&A Game Room at 13 Fifth Ave. N.E.

• Considering a first and second reading to amend the Utilities Ordinance regarding adding a local limit for phosphorus.

• Awarding a bid for Southwest Box Culvert Improvements Phase II to low bidder, C & H Paving Inc., in Thomson, for $331,914.20.

• Considering a third and final reading and enacting amendments to the Fireworks and Explosives Ordinance regarding fireworks sales.

• Considering an agreement between the Georgia Department of Transportation and the City of Moultrie for Airport Planning Assistance. The agreement would include land acquisition, an environmental assessment of the  runway and taxiway extension and an engineering design for the hangar taxiway at Moultrie Municipal Airport, and

• Considering an award of Proposal to Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) in the amount of $433,000, as requested by Utilities Director Roger King.
