  • Moultrie Technical College honored military veterans from its faculty, staff and student body on Monday, Nov. 12, with a come-and-go reception throughout the day at the Veterans Parkway Campus in Moultrie. Each veteran was presented with a portable MTC cooler as a small token of appreciation for his or her service. A similar event was held on the college’s Tifton Campus. Approximately 2 percent of Moultrie Tech’s students use benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to help cover their educational expenses. Community honors veterans

MOULTRIE — School children filled the stands at the Lewis Hill Amphitheater Monday, Nov. 12, to hear leaders of local veterans groups describe the history and importance of Veterans Day.

The ceremony concluded with the laying of wreaths in honor of veterans' service and sacrifice.

Meanwhile, Moultrie Technical College held a reception for veterans affiliated with the college.

An Observer photographer captured the event on the Courthouse Square, while community photographers sent their images from each of the events to the newspaper.
