Man slams door on knife-wielding woman

MOULTRIE — A Moultrie man reported slamming the door in the face of a woman who came at him Wednesday with a knife, Moultrie Police reports said.

Lawrence Woods, 37, of Moultrie, told police that at 3:41 p.m. he heard someone knocking on the door next to his at Regency Inn. When he opened the door to see who was outside a female acquaintance came at him with a large knife.

When Woods shut the door of the room the woman began kicking it, he reported.

The woman left when a motel employee told her that she was calling the police.

In other assaults:

• Yolanda Walker, Regency Village Drive, reported Wednesday that a male relative turned over a towel rack, causing a glass dish to hit her head, during an argument.

Walker had scratches on her neck, police reports said.

• William G. Sloan, Moultrie, reported Tuesday that two men and a woman assaulted him due to a dispute over his girlfriend.

Sloan told police that at about 10 p.m. Tuesday the three pulled him into the woods in the 1700 block of First Avenue Southeast and assaulted him, and also threatened to kill his girlfriend.

The officer did not notice any injuries to Sloan, police reports said.

• Laquita Maria Smith, 600 block Second Street Northwest, reported Wednesday that a male relative scratched her when he hit her face during a dispute.



Arrests

• Victor Jackson, 37, 511 Jefferson St., was charged Sunday with simple battery.

• Darryl Jerome Walker, 42, Lot 44 Regency Village Drive, was charged Thursday with battery and cruelty to children



Thefts

• William Hicks, 600 block Second Street Northwest, reported Wednesday the theft of a window air conditioner, 42-inch television, two Samsung cell phones, four bottles of cologne and a weed trimmer from his residence.

Hicks told the officer that the air conditioner was removed to gain entry to the residence, and that he thinks he knows who committed the burglary.

• Ginori Wiley, 700 block Pine Drive, reported Wednesday the theft of a Toshiba laptop computer.

• Billy Paramore, Moultrie, reported Wednesday the theft of a kitchen sink from a vacant house in the 100 block of 10th Street Southwest.

A window of the house also was broken.

• Taquila Fuller, 800 block Fourth Street Northwest, reported the theft of a tag from 2000 Ford Focus.



Fraud

• Ameris Bank, 225 S. Main St., reported Wednesday that a woman tried to cash a stolen check for $1,000.

The woman left without getting the money, but the check left at the bank has her signature and thumb print on it.



Property damage

• Willie Gammage, 500 block First Avenue Southwest, reported Wednesday that a female acquaintance threw a beer bottle through a window of his residence.

• Juan Martinez, 2100 block West Blvd., reported Thursday that a window of his residence was broken.

Police said that a man hit the window, cutting his arm, and was treated at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Assaults

• Jonathan Shane Kastelic, 800 block Doc Darbyshire Road, reported Thursday that two male acquaintances attacked him.

Kastelic told the officer that the men came to his residence and asked him to go play video games. After they left the men attacked him.

Kastelic had swelling around both eyes, sheriff’s reports said. No arrests were made.



Thefts

• Junior Evans, Ellenton-Omega Road, reported Wednesday the theft of three 6-wheel peanut wagons.



Property damage

• Janet Miley, 300 block Deerfield Road, reported Wednesday that a China cabinet at her residence was damaged during a break-in.



Arrests

• Steven Ray Miller, 36, 306 21st Ave. N.E., was charged Wednesday with driving while license suspended.

• Marco Antonio Malagon, 25, 982 Sam Rentz Road, was charged Wednesday with driving without a license.

• Victor Jackson, 37, 511 Jefferson St., was charged Wednesday with simple battery.



Norman Park Police



• Sheena Rae Gordon, 28, 1171 George Flowers Road, Norman Park, was charged Wednesday with driving while license withdrawn.

• Tarius Levarius Jackson, 29, 190 Dennis Powell Road, Norman Park, was charged Wednesday with two counts of obstruction of an officer, disorderly conduct and loitering.
