Riverside counsel named to Leadership Georgia

MOULTRIE — Elizabeth Strickland, assistant corporate counsel for Riverside Manufacturing Company, has been named to the Leadership Georgia Class of 2010.

Strickland has been an active member of Moultrie Junior Woman’s Club for many years. She served as president in 2008. She currently serves as a board member for United Way of Colquitt County.

Leadership Georgia is a prestigious 38-year-old organization of community and state leaders. Affiliated with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Georgia trains and builds a network of emerging young leaders from across the state. Past participants include a number of influential state and national leaders ranging from former U.S. Sen. Sam Nunn to University of Georgia Athletic Director Vince Dooley.

Sixty participants are selected each year from a pool of several hundred applicants. Class members visit five Georgia communities in a year-long exchange of ideas and experiences about important issues affecting the state.

The 2010 Class of Leadership Georgia will be led by incoming President Barbara Hampton of Roswell. With a principal focus on growing a global Georgia, this class will travel to Brasstown Valley, Atlanta, Vidalia, Ft. Gaines and Columbus.
