NORMAN PARK — A Norman Park man was recovering at Colquitt Regional Medical Center Monday after he was stabbed twice Saturday afternoon.
Victor Garcia was taken to Colquitt Regional for two stab wounds in his back following an incident Saturday afternoon. A hospital spokesperson said Garcia was listed in stable condition as of Monday afternoon.
A Colquitt County sheriff’s deputy was called to a house on Lazy Bear Road in Norman Park at 1:26 p.m. Saturday about a stabbing. The deputy found Garcia with the stab wounds, and he stated two white males got out of a black Nissan car and came up to him, acting like they knew him.
When Garcia realized he did not know the men, he stated he turned and tried to run away. Before he could escape, however, he was stabbed twice in the back.
A witness at the scene told the deputy Garcia called her at 12:59 p.m., but it was not known if it was related to the stabbing. The deputy had responded to the house at 11:32 a.m. Saturday but left a short time later before responding a second time about the stabbing.
