Shopping, diniing ends in fight

Staff Reports

MOULTRIE — After spending most of the day together, including dining and shopping, a man and woman ended up in a fight that sparked allegations of beating, biting and hair pulling, the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office said.

Traci Kirkland, 100 block Cook Road, reported Thursday that William Randall Clifton, of the 500 block of Cook Road, grabbed her by the hair and hit her in the face several times during the 10 p.m. incident. She reported that he pushed her to the bed and put a pillow over her face.

Clifton told the officer that Kirkland bit him three times. He reported that he pushed her and held his hand over her mouth to stop her from screaming, but that that occurred after she attacked him.

Both agreed that the incident was sparked over his cellular telephone.

Kirkland had cuts around her right eye and on her upper lip and her left arm was bruised, sheriff’s reports said. No arrests were made in the incident.

In another incident Tony Harris, 500 block Bonnie Tuk Road, reported Thursday that he hit a man who came to his residence and began using vulgar language and threatening him when Harris refused to loan him money.

Carroll Ray Fender, 600 block Bonnie Tuk Road, told the officer that he went to Harris’ residence about a boat and that Harris attacked him without provocation.

Several witnesses supported Harris’ account, sheriff’s reports said.
