MOULTRIE —
Early voting begins Monday in the race for the state Senate seat vacated by John Bulloch.
Dean Burke of Bainbridge and Mike Keown of Coolidge face each other in a runoff after they were the top two vote-getters on Jan. 8. Six candidates competed for the District 11 seat, which includes all or part of eight Southwest Georgia counties.
Voters can cast their ballots 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday in Room 109 of the Colquitt County Courthouse Annex.
Regular voting will be held Feb. 5. Polls will be open that day 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with all the votes counted that evening.
Election Superintendent Wes Lewis said any registered voter can cast his or her ballot in the election. It is not a partisan race, and the voter need not have cast a ballot in the original election in January.
Anyone with questions, please contact Registrar Paula McCullough at 616-7056 or Lewis at 616-7415.
