MOULTRIE —
Two pickup trucks were heavily damaged and a house suffered minor damage when they were left unattended while connected with jumper cables.
Moultrie Fire Department reports said that Dismer Alvarez, 1012 First Ave. S.E., left to purchase a battery while a friend’s Ford F-350 was charging his Ford F-350.
When Alvarez returned home at about 2:43 p.m. the trucks were on fire.
An electrical spark apparently caused the engine compartment of Alvarez’s truck to catch fire and it spread throughout his truck and also set the other truck owned by Tesmitocle Suarez ablaze.
Both trucks were heavily damaged, fire reports said, and a wall of the carport of the residence and utility lines also were damaged.
