MOULTRIE —
Moultrie police made arrests in theft and prostitution cases over a weekend that also brought reports of gunshots and thrown objects breaking windows and three puppies killed in a break-in.
In one theft case, Tim Jacques, also known as Timothy McNealy, 38, 213 Second St. N.W., was charged Saturday with theft by receiving stolen property.
Jacques was charged in a Friday burglary reported by Kenneth Crews of the 500 block of Third Street Southeast.
Crews told police that an HP laptop computer, Elgin watch and $7 in change were taken.
In another case Charlotte Germaine Brown, 47, 624 Second St. N.W., was charged Friday with three counts of theft by taking.
Brown is accused of checking out customers at Belk’s, 2443 S. Main St., without charging for all merchandise brought to the counter. The value of the stolen merchandise was $441.
Brown told police that she allowed customers on Dec. 21 and 22 to pass through the line without scanning all of the merchandise.
At 4:43 p.m. Sunday, police arrested Kimberly Leona Knight, 34, 114 Ashley Road, was charged with prostitution, giving a false name and probation violation.
Knight was arrested after Marvin Web of Moultrie reported that she propositioned him for $20 for “sexual favors,” as he left a business in the 200 block of Sixth Street Southeast, police said.
When approached by police, Knight initially gave her name as Lyn Merritt. A check of the Social Security number she gave her true identity, police said.
In other arrests
Moultrie police
• Cynthia Rushing, 53 17107 Ga. Hwy. 33, Pavo, was charged Friday with simple battery.
Rushing was arrested after she reportedly hit a Colquitt Regional Medical Center staff member who was trying to restrain her.
Jody Redding told police that after Rushing, who had fallen and had back pain, took off a collar she took Rushing’s hand and Rushing hit her.
Rushing told police she hit the employee because she was in a great deal of pain and that she was not trying to hurt her.
• John Allen Hoyt, 50, 282 Lakeshore Road, was charged Saturday with driving without a license and head light violation.
• David Davis, 43, 521 Ninth St. S.W., was charged Saturday with disorderly conduct, giving a false name and probation violation.
• Augusta Dewayne Bullard, 40, and Tracie Diahann Bullard, both of 9 Norman St., were each charged Sunday with disorderly conduct.
• Gonzalo Luis Perez, 23, 215 Fourth Ave. S.E., was charged Sunday with no license, tag light violation and child restraint violation.
• Chantae Nicole Lee, 31, 328 Serena Drive, Norman Park, was charged Monday with driving with a suspended license, no insurance, expired tag and tag light violation.
• Steve Jerome Sutton, 29, 255 Indian Lake Drive Lot 3, was charged Friday with probation violation.
• Matthew Caleb Belcher, 25, 4790 Doerun-Norman Park Road, was charged Friday with probation violation.
• Brandon Lamar Jones, 30, 90 Leisure Court Apt. D, Albany, was charged Friday with probation violation.
Assaults
Moultrie Police Department
• Latarious Greene, 500 block 27th Street Southeast, reported Saturday that a male acquaintance knocked on his door and when he came in hit Victoria Oliver, who was holding a child at the time.
Oliver had bite marks on her left hand and chin and scratches on her neck, police said.
She told police that her head had been slammed against a bedroom wall.
Witnesses told police that the assailant then went outside and hit Raheim Kinsey, Oliver’s brother, several times and slammed his face into the sidewalk.
The officer noted that there was blood on the sidewalk near the apartment.
A warrant will be taken for the assailant on two counts of battery and cruelty to children, police said.
• Amber Mireles, first block McDonald Court, reported Saturday that a male acquaintance punched Katie Robinson of Tifton in the face and then slapped her when she spoke to him about hitting Robinson.
The man was gone when police arrived. The man, who is Mireles’ roommate, has an active arrest warrant in Alabama. Moultrie police also will take warrants for two counts of battery.
Thefts
Moultrie Police Department
• Zachary Wise, Moultrie, reported Friday the theft of a wallet he had lost in the 400 block of Hampton Way. The wallet contained a driver’s license, school permit and $37.
Property damage

• Carl Dawson, 500 block Third Street Southeast, reported Saturday that when he returned home from work he found his back door open, couches overturned and his entertainment stand broken. Three puppies also were missing.
When police checked the residence, the three puppies were found dead in a garbage can filled with water in the bath tub.
• Charles Hobgood, 1400 block Sunrise Avenue, reported Sunday that he heard a gunshot outside his residence at 10:30 p.m. and found a bedroom window broken.
• Hettie Bryant, 1000 block Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, reported Sunday that she found a broken window and rock inside her residence after she noticed cold air coming into her bedroom.
• George Rice, Norman Park, reported Friday that a door window was broken at a house in the 700 block of Third Avenue Northwest.
• Jackie McNeal, 200 block First Avenue Southwest, reported Saturday that a vehicle struck his 2005 Ford Taurus.
McNeal told police that he heard a loud noise outside at 3:30 a.m. and when he went out he found that the car had been hit on the passenger side. The other driver left without stopping.
• Fred Monts, 600 block Fourth Street Southwest, reported Sunday that two males threw his mail box through a window of his residence and then left in a Chevrolet Blazer.
• Robert Dinkins, 400 block East Central Avenue, reported Sunday that someone threw a brick through a bedroom window of his residence.
