MOULTRIE —
A Saturday night caused significant damage at a Southeast Moultrie house, but the residents, who were away at the time, escaped injury.
A dog died in the 923 10th St. S.E. residence that apparently did not have smoke detectors installed, Moultrie Fire Department reports said.
The fire apparently started in a right front bedroom where an extension cord was found with several electrical devices plugged into it, the reports said.
The home had heavy fire damage to nearly the entire structure, with the remainder having heavy heat and smoke damage.
The American Red Cross were at the scene to assist residents Paulina and Antonio Corona when they arrived home, the reports said. The house is owned by Danny Williams, who lives in the 1000 block of 10th Street.
