MOULTRIE —
The City of Moultrie will close a portion of Rowland Drive beginning Tuesday to allow for the removal of railroad tracks no longer in use.
The roadway will be closed for up to three days between the Georgia Farmers Market and Colquitt EMC.
The closure will allow Public Works Department crews to cut the pavement, remove three separate portions of the roadway along with the three tracks, and lay base and pave this section of Rowland Drive. The street will be re-opened on or before Thursday evening.
Motorists are urged to use caution while traveling the open portion of Rowland Drive in this area and to plan ahead for the required detour so as to arrive at their desired destination on time. All businesses and residents will be accessible during this closure.
For further information, citizens may call the City of Moultrie Public Works Department at 229-890-5423.
