MOULTRIE —
One of two people injured in a Sunday morning accident on Old Berlin Road was still hospitalized on Monday afternoon.
Rita Griffin, 18, of Moultrie, who was thrown from the Honda Accord she was driving, was listed in good condition Monday at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Georgia State Patrol reports said that Griffin lost control at about 1:44 a.m. Sunday in a curve on Old Berlin Road about 0.1 mile east of Cook Road. The 1991 Accord left the roadway and Griffin overcorrected sending the car off the other side of the road.
The car hit a fence and began flipping, the reports said, during which Griffin was thrown out of the car.
Passenger Hannah Fambro, 19, of Doerun, was treated at Colquitt Regional Medical Center and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Griffin was charged with driving under the influence, no seat belt and failure to maintain lane and Fambro was charged with no seat belt.
The Observer was not able to determine whether this was the same curve at which two teen-agers died in a single-car accident in September, but it is in the same vicinity.
