St. Margaret's to host 2 Christmas Eve services

MOULTRIE — St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church will host two services on Christmas Eve: a child-friendly event at 5:30 p.m. and the traditional service at 11 p.m.

“St. Margaret is offering a new alternative to the traditional Christmas Eve services offered throughout the community,” said a press release from the church. “Our child-friendly service offers every child an opportunity to participate in all activities, from carrying the processional cross, to reading scripture lessons.  The joy and delight in the children’s eyes is unmistakable!”

The traditional “Midnight Mass” service will be held at 11 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

In addition to the Christmas Eve service, a children’s service starts at 9 a.m. each Sunday, with a special program called Godly Play offered after the 9 a.m. service.

The church also offers an adult Eucharist service every Sunday at 11 a.m.

Father Walter Hobgood is the priest in charge.
