Doerun makes its first prostitution bust

MOULTRIE — Doerun police shut down this week what the agency described as the first prostitution operation busted in the town’s history.

After fielding complaints about a 612 S. Green St., residence, the Doerun Police Department had an officer from Moultrie pose as a customer, department reports said.

The officer negotiated a price for sex with 18-year-old Jami Sierrah Bozeman, the reports said, at which time officers from both agencies took her into custody. In addition to Bozeman, officers arrested at the residence Kenneth Lamar Copeland, 34, Bozeman’s alleged pimp, who has been charged with conspiracy to commit prostitution.

Bozeman was charged with prostitution, keeping a place of prostitution and cruelty to children.

The latter charge is related to her 2-year-old daughter, who also was inside the residence at the time, reports said. Police launched the investigation on Nov. 19 after receiving several complaints about the residence over a period of several months.

“To date, there is no indication that anybody has ever been charged with committing this type of crime in Doerun before,” police said.

In other arrests:

• Lillian Ann Nunn, 36, 417 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive Apt. N, was charged Tuesday with theft by shoplifting.

Nunn is accused of concealing on Nov. 17 a bottle of vodka and walking out of Shomesh Package Store, 205 Fifth St. S.E.

• Beatrice Adriana Rosales, 23, 339 Willow Drive, was charged Tuesday with probation violation.

• Esau Tabarez, 27, 102 WMTM Road, was charged Tuesday with no license and tag light violation.

• Nicolas Miguel Mateo, 34, 80 Regency Village Drive, was charged Tuesday with being an unlicensed driver and no tag light.
