MOULTRIE — Colquitt County deputies arrested a Colquitt County man on warrants from Leon County, Fla., Tuesday, but before they were through they also arrested a woman they said was trying to prevent the arrest.
Jessica Diane Tyson, 25, of 3419 Highway 311 in Camilla, was charged with obstruction. Lewis Manning Pedrick, 27, of 413 Highway 319 N., was charged with grand theft, organizing a scheme to defraud and uttering, all charges from Leon County.
Deputies went to a house on Highway 319 North about 3 p.m. Tuesday to find Pedrick and serve the warrants on him. The deputies could not find the house initially, but neighbors stated they allegedly saw Pedrick enter a nearby house recently.
When the deputies went to the house neighbors pointed out to them, they spoke with Tyson and confirmed it was the house they were searching for. The deputies asked if Pedrick was there, but Tyson allegedly stated he did live there but was at work at the time.
The deputies asked for permission to enter the house, and Tyson became nervous and allegedly stated Pedrick told her not to let anyone inside. She stated she cleaned the house and left briefly because she allegedly stated she had to turn off the stove.
When Tyson came back, she was acting even more nervous, and the deputies then heard a noise from inside the house. A third deputy arrived at the scene, and Tyson gave him a key to enter the house.
Once the deputies entered the house, they found Pedrick and placed him under arrest. The deputies also placed Tyson under arrest, and both were taken to Colquitt County Jail.
