2nd this week, 3rd this month

MOULTRIE — Editor's note: This report has been corrected from its original version.

A second armed robbery of a Moultrie convenience store occurred Thursday, this time at a different location on West Central Avenue, Moultrie Police Department reports said.

Al Patel reported that a gunman entered EZ Corner, 1100 W. Central Ave., at about 9:14 a.m. The gunman pointed a gun at him and demanded money.

Patel told officers that he gave the assailant more than $900 and he then left the store.

Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the robber, police reports said.

On Tuesday, two men wearing black clothing and with their faces covered held up Best Little Store in Georgia, 619 W. Central Ave., police said earlier this week. One man robbed an employee at gunpoint while a second watched the door.

It was the third armed robbery of a convenience store in the city in January, the other being a New Year’s robbery at Murphy’s Express on Veterans Parkway. Two men were charged in that incident.

No arrests had been made in the other two robberies as of Friday afternoon.
