Fire damages N.E. Moultrie home

MOULTRIE — An early morning fire Thursday heavily damaged a northeast Moultrie residence.

When firefighters arrived at about 2:50 a.m. to the 1508 Fourth Ave. N.E. residence of Sandra McCloud they found heavy smoke coming out of the kitchen area, Moultrie Fire Department reports said.

Firefighters conducted a search of the residence but all occupants had gotten out before their arrival and no injuries were reported. After the fire was extinguished they found heavy fire and heat damage to the kitchen, dining and living rooms, and heavy smoke damage throughout the house.

The house is owned by Darrell Moore of the first block of Wiregrass Circle, fire reports said. American Red Cross workers came to the scene to assist the family and firefighters.
