MOULTRIE —
A Colquitt County man accused of trying to elude officers was arrested after he lost control of the car he was driving and then tried to flee on foot, Colquitt County Sheriff’s reports said.
Demetrius Tyshaun Daniels, 18, 6782 Old Adel Road, was charged with driving too fast for conditions, failure to drive within a single lane, fleeing/attempting to elude and driving while license withdrawn.
Two officers on patrol tried to stop a Lincoln Town Car with no tag lights at 12:51 a.m. on Sylvester Drive, sheriff’s reports said. The driver failed to stop and turned onto Salina Drive, where he lost control of the car and ran off the road.
Officers caught Daniels in some bushes and placed him under arrest, sheriff’s reports said.
In other arrests:
• Wanda Katrina Goff, 44, 144 E. Gate Drive, Norman Park, was charged Tuesday with harassing phone calls.
• Kathleen Virginia Walker, 57, 2800 Josey Miller Road, Newton, and Lyn Roberts, 42, 225 Indian Lake Drive, were each charged Tuesday with theft by receiving.
Thefts
• Daniel Martinez, 100 block Smokey Bear Road, Norman Park, reported Wednesday the theft of a 47-inch Insignia flat screen television.
• Robin Clark, 100 block Robin Lane, reported Wednesday the theft of a Jimenez Arms 9 mm firearm.
Property damage
• Mary Giles, 1600 block Tallokas Street, reported Wednesday finding two broken rear windows at a 1629 Tallokas Street residence.
Harassment
• Lucia Olivera Juarez, 18, 200 block Trailer Park Road, reported Thursday that a male acquaintance has been harassing her, and on that day showed up intoxicated at her residence.

Arrests
• Ricky Bernard White, 37, 401-B Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, was charged Wednesday with probation violation.
• Lori Conger, 35, 800-B Ninth St. N.W., was charged Wednesday with theft by shoplifting.
• Angie Renee Beasley, 31, 543 27th St. S.E. Apt. 3, was charged Wednesday with theft by shoplifting.
• Jonathan Alfonso Daniels, 28, and Candice Rickell Thomas, 23, both of 69 Regency Village Drive, were each charged Thursday with disorderly conduct.
Thefts
• Tina Sanchez and David Whittington, both of Moultrie, reported Wednesday the theft of an Astra 9 mm pistol, Sony digital camera, $3 in change, micro-cassette recorder, Canon EOS Rebel and two HP laptop computers. The items were stolen from a business in the 200 block of West Bypass.
• Michael Lupo, first block Kingwood Garden Drive, reported Wednesday the theft of a bicycle.
• Peggy Collins reported Wednesday that a male acquaintance apparently used her debit card to make purchases of $89, $39, $15, and $39.
• Voncial Washington, 500 block Second Avenue Northeast, reported Wednesday the theft of an Acer laptop computer, VHS-VCR unit, and Sony DVD player.
Harassment
• Shatoya Moore, 400 block Sixth Street Northwest, reported Wednesday that two female acquaintances have been calling her and using obscene language, and also have driven by her residence on multiple occasions.
Assaults
• Shantavia Evette Mackey, 24, of Moultrie, reported Wednesday that a male acquaintance that she knows only as “Blured” fired a gun by a trash can during an incident in the 800 block of Fourth Street Northwest. Officers found no shell casings at the scene, and reports said Mackey’s story had several “gaps.”
Mackey also told police that the man took the keys to her 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix and that she wants the vehicle returned.
• Earline Roberts, 900 block Fourth Street Northwest, reported Wednesday that a man and woman were involved in a fight at her residence.
Katrice Scott told police that someone tried to hit her with a ceramic statue, and that a male acquaintance got involved and hit her arm.
Property damage
• Danny Alderman, of Moultrie, reported Thursday finding damage at a commercial building in the first block of Seventh Street Southeast. Damaged were 17 light fixtures, a change machine, video game machine, nine washers and three security damages. The damage was estimated at $12,000, and $400 in cash also was stolen.
Doerun Police Department
• Willie Henry Lawton, 48, 122 Ga. Hwy. 270, Doerun, was charged Wednesday with theft by receiving.
Georgia State Patrol
• Christopher Allen Root, 23, 106 Short St., Norman Park, was charged Wednesday with driving under the influence of drugs, defective equipment, and possession of marijuana.

A Meigs man charged with theft faces additional charges as suspected marijuana was found on him at the time of his arrest, Moultrie Police Department reports said.

CORRECTION: DUI charge
In a Jan. 28 report, The Observer said Ronald Craig Bass, 50, 4411 Dunn Road, Hartsfield, was charged Jan. 26 with driving under the influence, open container violation and probation violation in connection with a minor wreck on Camilla Highway. Excluding the probation violation charge, that information came from a Moultrie police report of a November 2001 incident.
Bass was charged with probation violation Thursday because all the penalties from the 2001 incident had not been paid. He paid the remaining penalties following his arrest, according to a Moultrie police report.

Peanut Commission Research Report Day will be Feb. 8
The Georgia Peanut Commission will hold the annual Research Report Day Wednesday, Feb. 8, beginning at 9 a.m. at the National Environmentally Sound Production Agriculture Laboratory (NESPAL), located on the University of Georgia Tifton campus.
